Dr. Dale Kalina completed Internal Medicine training from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and an Infectious Disease Fellowship at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
Dr. Kalina is an infectious disease specialist and the medical director of infection prevention and control at Joseph Brant Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario. Dr Kalina is also currently a Clinical Scholar in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences in Hamilton, Ontario. His areas of clinical interest include Covid-19, outpatient infectious disease management including outpatient antibiotic therapy and HIV. He is a current member of the Vascular Access Committee and the Association of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease Canada.
He is also completed an Executive MBA in Digital Transformation at the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University.
Dr. Kalina's research interests include HIV Preexposure Prophylaxis (prEP) and infectious diseases in the intravenous drug using population. He is a current member of the IVDU agenda 2020 research group.
